The Supplemental ECACE Funding Program

Oakton College has received the Early Childhood Access Consortium for Equity (ECACE) institutional Grant dollars to support students who are pursuing Early Childhood Education studies. The aim is to help support students in their pursuit of ECE Credentials.

Criteria

  • You are a past employee or a current employee in the Early Childhood field in either a licensed or license-exempt facility, including home-based child care (e.g., family, friend, neighbor), center-/community-based child care, Preschool for All programs, school-based preschool settings, and Head Start programs, that serve children from birth to age 5
  • Enrolled in one of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) (ECE AAS or ECE Certificate) programs
  • Currently enrolled in an ECE course or in a course required for the selected ECE program for the semester the student is applying for funds
  • Students should generally be in good academic standing

Award Amounts
Funding can be used for tuition and fees, books/supplies, transportation, housing, and other personal expenses. Each funding category has funding limits.

Full-time and Part-time is defined below

  • Full-time Status is considered 12 or more credit hours
  • Part-time Status is considered 6 to 11 credit hours
  • Less than Part-time Status is considered less than 5 credit hours

Funding is based on the cost of attendance, which is tied to the student’s full-time/part-time status.

Important Information: Funding for the Supplemental ECACE Funding Program expires on June 30, 2024. This is the last term this scholarship is available at Oakton College.
