The Honors Scholarship is available for students who enroll at Oakton Community College in the fall semester immediately following high school graduation.
The student is required to have at least a 3.5 High School GPA OR an ACT composite score of 25 or higher OR a minimum SAT score of 1200. An interview with the Honors Coordinators is required.
Students would be required to join Oakton’s Honors Program and enroll in 12 credit hours or more each semester with the intention of completing two years of undergraduate work before transferring. Students are expected to take the Honors sequence of EGL 101 and EGL 102 during their first two semesters.
To retain the scholarship, students must maintain a 3.25 GPA at Oakton. Thereafter, students must enroll in at least one Honors course or Honors Core Seminar per semester and complete the Honors Scholars Certificate (18 credit hours in Honors). Students are required to meet with either Honors Coordinator once per semester.
